Dr. Khalid Mehmood

Dr. Khalid Mehmood is a Specialist in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Therapeutic Endoscopy in Jammu. He is currently attached to Asia Gastro-Liver & Endoscopy Centre, located at Bakshi Nagar near the Government Medical College in Jammu city. He completed his graduation (MBBS) and post-graduation from Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS, Srinagar) in 2008 and 2013 respectively. Dr. Mehmood later obtained the superspeciality DNB (Gastroenterology) title from Yashoda Hospitals in Secunderabad.

Dr. Khalid Mehmood is an expert in the treatment of a wide range of gastric and liver ailments, including dyspepsia (acidity/gas), irritable bowel syndrome & irritable bowel disease (IBS/IBD), constipation, chronic diarrhoea, pancreatic and gall bladder diseases, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dysphagia, gastric ulcer, fatty liver, alcoholic liver disease, jaundice, haemorrhoids (piles) and intestinal infections.

Dr. Mehmood is also skilled in advanced endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, iliocolonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic biopsy, oesophageal stricture dilatation, oesophageal and anorectal manometry, endoscopic guided nasogastric tube placement, foreign body removal, upper & lower GI bleeding management (endoscopic variceal ligation, injection therapy & APC), endoscopic polypectomy, diagnostic endoultrasonography (EUS), and SB tube placement.

He is currently focusing on advanced endoscopic interventions such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), therapeutic EUS, biliary & luminal metal stenting and peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM).
